10 Promises From God that Will Help You Live in Victory

Life comes with many challenges, trials and tests. Disappointments, set-backs and hurts can lead to trauma and heavy emotional burdens. Sometimes it all just seems too much and we feel like our prayers aren’t being answered. The enemy will plant lies in our minds about how we aren’t good enough, how God has forgotten about us and that things will never change. The pit of feeling like we aren’t enough, or feeling sorry for ourselves, is a very dark place to be, and if you aren’t careful to guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus, it can feel impossible to pull yourself out of it. These dark and heavy moments are exactly when you need to cling to God and the promises in His Word the most, because through Him, you can live the life of victory that God has planned for you and have a knowing deep in your soul, that no weapon formed against you shall prosper!

As you partner with Him and get into agreement with what His Word says about you, you will be amazed at what God will do in and through you!

1. You Are Loved

Jeremiah 31:3

The Lord appeared to us in the past, saying: “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.”

God is love and He loves us with an everlasting love.

God loves you with an everlasting, unconditional love. His love for you is so great that it will chase you down and fill every dark corner with His light. He loves us so much that He sacrificed His one and only Son for us, so that we could be saved from our sins. God wants you to know that He loves you no matter what you’ve done or how many times you’ve failed Him. There’s nothing you can do that can take away the deep love He has for you. The people in our lives can leave us feeling rejected, unloved and in pain from the hurts they cause us, but it is so important for us to remember that there is a love much greater than people can give us, we have God’s unfailing love to lean on, for all eternity. His perfect love will never fail us and He will never hurt us or let us down the way people do. If you find yourself in a period of hurt, unworthiness or rejection because you feel unloved, ask in prayer for God to fill you and heal you with His perfect love. Spend time each day in His presence and take a moment to receive His love into your heart and soul. Let Him bring a knowing to your spirit that you are so loved by Him and that His love can never be taken away from you. As you embrace and receive His love, let Him into every area of your heart and let Him heal you from the trauma of your hurts. Let go of the pain and look forward as you walk in His love to the victory He has for you!

2. You Are a Child of God

1 John 3:1

See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!

As the child of God, He holds you in the palm of His hand.

Rejoice and take heart because God calls you His child! He has adopted you into His heavenly family and you are His precious creation. I shared an amazing experience with God recently, where He showed me that even though my earthly father abandoned me and doesn’t want a relationship with me, God is my Heavenly Father and He has been there by my side every step of my life. I used to get very sad and uncomfortable whenever I witnessed a loving moment shared between a father and daughter because I never had that – but God showed me a beautiful vision of Him with me on my wedding day. On my wedding day my mom walked me down the aisle. I also had a mother – daughter dance instead of a father – daughter dance. God showed me that He was by my side through it all as my Father. He was on the other side of me while my mom walked me down the aisle and He wrapped us in His arms as we had our dance. He told me that I don’t need to feel sad anymore or like I missed out on a father that loves me, because He loves me and He is my Father. Our earthly parents sometimes don’t know how to love us in the way that we need them to, and because of this, for many people, childhood trauma follows us into adulthood. God is saying we don’t need to hold onto the pain of feeling unloved and unwanted by our parents, because we are His children and He is the perfect parent. He is our Heavenly Father that never leaves us and never lets us down. You are His child and He will fight for you, protect you and love you exactly in the way you need!

3. You Are Fearfully and Wonderfully Made and You Are God’s Masterpiece

Psalm 139:14

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.

Ephesians 2:10

For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

You are just as beautiful as a sunset over a field of wildflowers.

These two verses are beautiful confirmations of how God has made you exactly how you were meant to be. You are His masterpiece and you have been fearfully and wonderfully made by the Creator of the universe! If this is what God says about us, then we definitely shouldn’t be walking around in defeat or feeling unworthy of having victory in our lives! You are beautiful because God created you. You are just as vibrant as a sunset, just as pretty as wildflowers and just as majestic as the mountains. God lovingly created all of these things, just as He lovingly created you. It’s time to start seeing these things when you look in the mirror, instead of the lies Satan has told you about not being enough. You are worthy and you can be confident in who God made you to be!

4. You Are Forgiven

Isaiah 1:18

“Come now, let’s settle this,” says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, I will make them as white as snow. Though they are red like crimson, I will make them as white as wool.”

Snow-covered trees in a peaceful winter landscape under a bright sky.
When God forgives you, He makes your sins white as snow and makes you clean.

We are all sinners and we all make mistakes, that is just a part of being human. The enemy likes to remind us of our mistakes and failures to cause us to get stuck in defeat. He is trying to stop the purpose God has for your life by keeping you stuck in the sins of your past. This kind of thinking will keep you trapped and feelings of unworthiness and failure will consume you. The good news is that you don’t have to live like this! Jesus died for our sins so we could be forgiven and saved by His blood. Jesus took the punishment we deserve and has given us the precious gift of salvation and forgiveness. When you sin and you feel conviction from the Holy Spirit, take your sins to God and ask Him for forgiveness. If your heart is repentant, He will forgive you and remove your sins and make them white as snow. When God forgives you, He forgets about the mistakes you’ve made. Don’t believe the lies of the enemy when thoughts of failure, condemnation and unworthiness come to you. Rebuke these thoughts in the name of Jesus and receive the forgiveness God has lovingly given you! When you receive God’s forgiveness and let go of the mistakes you’ve made, God will work with you to bless you with victory in the purpose He has for your life!

5. You Are Righteous

2 Corinthians 5:21

For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.

A silhouette of a man praying at sunset, wearing a crown of thorns, symbolizing faith and hope in Jesus Christ.
Jesus died to save us and to make us righteous to God.

We are the righteousness of God through Christ Jesus. This means that when Jesus died for our sins, the original sin that was committed by Adam, was washed clean and we were made pure and righteous to God. As humans, our fleshly desires cause us to sin, but because Jesus died to save us from our sins, He gave us His righteousness. Righteousness is to be seen as pure and Holy and to have right standing with God. You don’t have to live feeling guilty or condemned from the sins and mistakes you’ve made, because Jesus has given you the gift of righteousness. Freely receive this gift and let it take root in your spirit. Know that you have been made right with God and you can approach his throne with boldness, asking Him to help you walk in victory!

6. You Are Chosen and You Have a Purpose

1 Peter 2:9

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.

Jeremiah 29:11

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

You are Chosen by God
God chose you and created you for a purpose.

God has a good plan for your life. He created you for a purpose. He chose you to fulfil the purpose He has for your life and to share His love and light with the world. God’s greatest purpose for us is to share the Gospel and bring His salvation to the world. He also has more intricately woven plans unique to us and our lives. These scriptures show us that God has chosen us as His special possessions and that His plans for us are good and full of hope. You are here for a reason and God hand-picked you as His child. Go to God in prayer and ask Him to direct your steps as you follow His perfect plan for your life. Ask him for guidance as you seek His will and thank Him for all the good things He has for you and walk confidently trusting that you are chosen by the Most High God!

7. You Are Blessed and Favoured

Psalm 5:12

Surely, Lord, you bless the righteous; you surround them with your favour as with a shield.

Letter board with 'Too Blessed to Be Stressed' quote for motivation.
You are blessed and highly favoured by the Hand of God, don’t let the enemy convince you otherwise.

In this verse, David is declaring that those who are in right standing with God are blessed by His hand and that God surrounds the righteous with His favour like a shield. As a believer, you have been made righteous through the blood of Jesus. This means that God has promised to bless you and surround you with His favour. What a wonderful promise this is! You can live life boldly knowing that God’s favour surrounds you wherever you go and whatever you do. Your life will overflow with His blessings and His goodness. Believe and receive this promise and rebuke any spirit of fear, intimidation or small thinking, because God has promised you big blessings and favour!

8. You Are Anointed and Powerful

1 John 2:20

But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and all of you know the truth.

Philippians 4:13

I can do all this through Him who gives me strength.

I can do all things through Christ
You can do whatever God had called you to do through Jesus, who is your strength.

Life has a way of stirring up fear in us, especially during times of change, set-backs, loss and disappointments. All through the Bible it tells us to not be afraid. I think God repeated this phrase so many times throughout scripture, because He knows that fear has a way of taking over us and keeping us trapped. He wants us to be reminded to live in victory and freedom and to know how powerful we are with His anointing and strength in our lives! You have an anointing over your life because you are a Christian. God gives you His supernatural power and strength to do things that you could never do on your own. He is working through you and blessing you with His abilities to accomplish more and unlock talents you never thought were possible. Doing things in your own strength and striving in the flesh can only get you so far, in fact, most of the time we end up making a big mess of things and feel overwhelmed by life and things we need to do, but when you partner alongside God and let His anointing and power work through you, things that felt difficult all of a sudden feel easier and lighter. This is when you are truly in the will of God and living in His anointing. Stop trying to make things happen in your own strength and taking control away from God – He is much more powerful than we are and only His anointing can get you to where you need to be!

9. You are Free

John 8:36

So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.

Break free from any chains, strongholds and generational curses through the freedom Jesus has given you.

When Jesus died on the cross for us, He set us free from all sin, evil and strongholds of the enemy. If you feel there are areas in your life that are bound in chains or that you need freedom from, take them to God and ask Him to free you, because His word declares, through Jesus you have been set free! Speak this truth over your life and break the chains of generational curses, strongholds of the enemy and any areas that feel stagnant or stuck! Freedom is one of the best feelings in the world, because you feel like nothing can hold you back. Jesus died to set us free so we can live in the will of God and see victory in every area of our lives! Rebuke any plans of the enemy that keep you bound in chains and live in the freedom that Jesus has freely given you!

10. You Are More Than a Conqueror

Romans 8:37

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.

A woman with raised arms enjoying the bright open sky in a serene outdoor setting.
Through Christ you can live a life of victory and be more than a conqueror.

Through Jesus we are more than conquerors! This means that even though we face struggles and trials in life, Jesus has already won the victory for us. Even when trials come our way, we can live with a victory mindset and not get weighed down by a victim mindset. Jesus died to give us victory over every plan of the enemy, and so each and every day, live with positivity and bravery, knowing that with God by your side, you can conquer every challenge and fulfil the purpose that He has for you!

I hope that reading this has empowered you to live boldly in the name of Jesus, knowing who and Who’s you are. You are a chosen, loved and anointed Child of the Lord our God. He has a purpose for your life and He wants to set you free from the lies and deceit of the enemy! It’s time for you to live in victory knowing that God’s favour and goodness surround you on all sides!
